Have I ever told you about my friend Sheryl? If not, we should sit down and talk about her for a while. She's my favorite. Seriously. I met her my freshman year of college and anytime our paths happen to cross, it brightens my day. Anyway, check out this video and you'll see why she's one of my favs.

I'm a secret genius
So today I watched Jeopardy when I got home from work and the most exciting thing happened. I got about 50% of the questions right! Usually a 50% means that you're not doing so hot, but in the world of Jeopardy, it means you're pretty smart stuff. I even got the final Jeopardy question right. So, like I said, today I discovered that I'm a secret genius. Oh, and you don't have to take my word for it. My roommate Kara witnessed my Einstein moment. Although she wasn't as impressed...she kept making comments about the amount of brain space that was wasted on worthless trivia. I kind of agree with her.

Community Health Connect
This is the organization that I worked for during the last year. It is an amazing program and such an incredible cause. The last patient is one of the girls I was so privileged to help. Her dentist, Dr. Nance, is the one who ends the video. So, watch. Enjoy. Feel moved. Then do something to change the world you live in.

Dating is my favorite thing
While life in Provo is all you could ever ask for and more, honestly there are far too many weekends spent sitting at home, on the couch, enjoying a Redbox movie with the girls. As my roommates and I discussed this, we decided that it was time to take our social lives into our own hands and not wait for boys to ask us out on dates. We decided that while there aren't any boys that any of us are particularly interested in, we have plenty of friends - who are boys - who we like hanging out with and that we should ask them on dates. Easy, right? WRONG. First of all, have you ever tried planning a group date? It seemed that every idea we came up with either sounded super cheesy and lame or not fun at all. THEN, there was the minor detail of finding a date. Let me tell you. Rejection is hard. I finally gave up after I had been rejected by 3 people. My fragile self esteem couldn't take it anymore. And so what did I end up doing on Friday night? Nothing. I stayed at home. Watching a Redbox movie. Ha.
Moral of the story? Life isn't as easy as I assumed for guys and dating. If nothing else, this experience has helped me to have empathy for guys.

Are you for real?!?
So the other day I was remembering how much I loved doing the Kokopelli triathlon in September. I mean, sure, there were times when I thought, "I want to die. This is crazy insanity. Why would anyone pay money to torture themselves?" However, after that brief moment of weakness, I realized that I absolutely loved triathlons. I love the atmosphere, the camaraderie, and most of all the sense of accomplishment. Now, let it be known that I did HORRIBLY in the triathlon. Seriously. I mean, obviously its huge that I finished it, but I knew as I crossed the finish line that if I had trained just a little more, I could have done pretty well. Anyway, so a few weeks ago I purchased an off season triathlon training schedule and it has really helped me build my strength and endurance. Today as I was perusing the internet looking for the next triathlon that I want to tackle, I came across this gem: http://www.bashwintertri.com/
If you're too lazy to click on the link to find out what I'm talking about, let me give you the rundown. It's the Battle at Soldier Hollow (BASH) Winter Race Festival. It's a winter triathlon, friends. How great, amazing, awesome, and fantastic is that? It is a 5k run, 5k mountain bike, and 4k cross country ski...all on a groomed snowy trail up at Soldier's Hollow. Seriously, check out the pictures and I promise you'll want to do it with me. Sooooooooo....give me a call, write me a text, send me an email, or just come by my house and we'll figure out all of the logistics of this thing. I'm already giddy with excitement!!
And, just because I want you to see how awesome triathlons are, here are some pictures from my triathlon a few months ago.

Don't wanna talk about it
Seriously, I don't even want to talk about my blog slacking. I'll talk about it some other time. Until then, enjoy my creation. The end of the summer and into the fall, this is what consumed my every waking moment. Yes, that's right folks, I wrote this oral health education assembly, complete with songs. I even wrote the lyrics to the last song and dance you see on the video. My very talented friend Dave helped me record it along with the help of his amazing niece Isabel. We went to every Title I elementary school in Utah county and with the help of Intermountain Health Care, we were able to put a fluoride varnish on all the kids' teeth and help those who needed urgent dental care get it for free. What's that you say? You want me and Mr. Happy Tooth to make a visit to your elementary school?? We'd LOVE to.
