Buffets are an interesting phenomenon. I mean, think about it. You go into a restaurant and the waiter hands you a menu but then also mentions the buffet option. As you peruse the menu, you notice that several items on the menu sound quite tasty, but in the back of your mind you think, "I'm starving. Will this really fill me? I don't want to pay $10 for an entrée and still be hungry." So, you begin considering the buffet option. Pay an extra 5 or so dollars and then it's suddenly an all-you-can-eat meal option. Great, right? Not necessarily. One: food from the buffet is rarely as good as food ordered off the menu. There's no way it could be. Let's be honest - it sits in those awesome food warmers for hours and hours. Sick. Two: there's an added element of stress that comes from feeling that you need to somehow consume $15 worth of food. After all, this is an all you can eat feast and you have to make it worth every penny that you've paid for it. So what ends up happening? Instead of potentially walking out of the restaurant slightly hungry (because you went with the 1 entrée option), you feel like you're going to puke because you ate more food in one meal than most people eat in a day. Awesome. So, friends, next time you find yourself thinking about ordering from the buffet, remember that every choice carries a consequence - some positive, some negative.
